FAQ
When joints are misaligned for a period of time, pressure builds up in the synovial fluid between them. That causes gas bubbles such as Nitrogen and Lactic acid to form in the joint capsule. When the joints are put into correct position, and the pressure releases off of the nerves and a sound occurs from the gas release. It is compared to the sound when you open a soda- just gas being released!
Chiropractic adjustments rarely cause any discomfort, due to the fact they are done in a precise direction with minimal force and gentle pressure. Typically, patients will feel relief immediately following treatment. However, it is not abnormal to be slightly sore after a chiropractic adjustment. It is similar to being sore after starting a new exercise program. After receiving chiropractic adjustments it is important to drink plenty of water, do some light stretching and ice the area.
